Student Volunteers Welcome!

• Cleaning & Set-up of Floral Hall Area ~ ASAP after July 4th
• Paint Touch-ups/Repairs, Build Shelves etc… ~ ASAP after Set-up
• Registration Days ~ August 11-14 Several volunteers needed to cover three days          and early Wed. for fresh flowers entries.

Exhibitor registration dates & times:

Sunday, August 11 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. 

Monday, August 12 from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Tuesday, August 13 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

• Set up display of all exhibits beginning @ 4:00pm Tue., August 13
• Make list/key of exhibitors names & numbers for public reference.

                  (Must be done Tuesday after registration closes.)

• Need Judges for all Categories ~ Arrive by 8:00a.m. Wed., 8/14
• Cover Shifts in Floral Hall Wednesday – Sunday 8/14 – 8/18
• Help with Tallying & Photo Copying of Exhibitor Premiums & Sales

                  Premium tallying can begin any time after judging on Wednesday

                  Sales will close Saturday at closing. Sales Tallying can begin at 10:00am Sunday.

• Help with Exhibitor Check-Out 4:00 Sunday, 8/18

Volunteers Needed For the Following Activities & Events

1.  The All New Scarecrow University ~ Wed. – Sun.
• Scarecrow University Headmaster / Mistress

Cover shifts in scarecrow school house Wednesday - Sunday. Dress as a scarecrow (optional). Interact with children, provide coloring pages, play memory games and word searches, color 

on chalk boards, read children’s stories about scarecrows and going to the fair. Would like two volunteers per shift.          

2. Scarecrow Contest & Silent Auction ~ Until Noon Sun.
• Promotion & Recruitment of Participants

(On going all summer. Talk about it with friends & family. Go to http://www.orleanscountyfair.net/floralhallartscrafts.htm  and print posters to put up in your town post office and businesses. • Help With Overseeing Silent Auction Closings ( noon Sunday)

3. Container Garden Contest & Silent Auction ~ Until Noon Sun.
• Promotion & Recruitment of Participants

Distribution of Ballots (All day Saturday beginning with gate opening)

• Assist Participants with Printing, Mounting, Displaying Photos (Shifts each day, Wednesday – 8pm Friday.)

5. Tea Party ~ Wednesday
• Promotion & Recruitment of Participants

      (on going all summer. See above suggestions and links)

• Assist Coordinator & Participants (Stringing Beads craft project and story time. Lemonade & Cookies. Wednesday 3:00 – Done.)

6. King Arthur Flour Baking Contest ~ Friday
• Promotion & Recruitment of Participants

      (on going all summer. See above suggestions and links)

• 3 Judges Needed (volunteers or suggestions appreciated)

7. Veggie Car Derby ~ Saturday
• Promotion & Recruitment of Participants

      (on going all summer. See above suggestions and links)

• 3 Volunteers Needed 1:00pm Wednesday (suggestions appreciated)

      1.) Announcer to call the races and rally the crowd.

      2.) Gate Release Person

      3.) Organize and run races in a fair manner
(like Boy Scouts Pine Wood Derby) based on number of participants 
showing up.
